AvtoVAZ to suspend Tolyatti plant for week on lack of spare parts

MOSCOW, Aug 19 (PRIME) -- Russian car producer AvtoVAZ, which produces Lada Granta, Xray, Largus, Niva, and Renault Logan, will suspend production on the facility in Tolyatti on August 23 for 7 days due to a shortage of spare parts, the company said in a statement on Thursday.

"AvtoVAZ is forced to change the production schedule for the workweek starting from August 23. All three lines of the Tolyatti car plant will be suspended for the entire week due to the continuing lack of supplies of Bosch’s electronic components," the statement read.

The plant in Izhevsk, which uses spare parts of other makers to assemble Lada Vesta, will continue normal operations, AvtoVAZ said.
